Chain partners are companies actually in the food chain. Both food processing businesses and suppliers take part in Skylark and work with the growers to make the food production more sustainable. That is how we make the entire chain sustainable. The exchange of knowledge plays a crucial part in this. Chain partners contribute knowledge and develop new knowledge with the growers, allowing them to gather practical know-how from the primary sector. Chains that have been developed with the growers are: wheat for baking, malting barley and pulses.
“To contribute to tasty, safe and affordable food, now and in the future, is sustainable in essence, and part of a farmer’s genetic makeup. A long-term return is the starting point, only then can you maintain that something is really sustainable.”
